One of the oldest elements of earth is the gold, which has been valued since centuries. Especially the tribe, which found out gold, got many advantages out of the things gold brought with itself. This element might not be as attractive as it is valued, but there are certain characteristics of gold, which make it different from others.

Gold is non-toxic and chemically benign. It is a good conductor of electricity. Gold also has the ability to be molded with much ease, and convenience. The roots of “the discovery and the legacy of gold” stretches back into the decayed pages of history.

Gold is a metal, which is of the highest value in the money market, and is considered to be a good investment. Egypt is known to have a very old relationship with gold, since it was one of the first few countries in the world to discover this natural resource. Gold has bought many advantages to the growth of the country.

Prior to sale through money, gold was used as a source for trading and buying purposes. There are many countries, which followed this system of using gold for trading, out of which, Egypt showed great liking for it. Not only was gold used as money, but was also used for other purposes.

Some people are known to have worshipped the Sun. The people also constitute the Egyptian civilisation. Sun was often seen as a source of life. For several civilisations, Gold was closely associated to the sun because of its yellow and gleaming attributes. The Egyptians perceived gold as the skin of Gods, especially the RA.

The civilisation in the olden days allowed only the king to wear gold. After some time, some important members of the royal palace, and priests were also given the privilege of wearing gold. The house of gold is the chamber where this culture is demonstrated, and the coffin of the king is made out of gold.

The ability of gold to corrode never also gave it a close resemblance to the attributes of gods. An amalgam of gold and other metals was made to cover the pyramids over the top and obelisks. The spiritual and religious importance and value of gold compelled it to be used in funerary art. The great example of which is the mask of Tutankhamun. Even though, gold was abundantly present, mining, and obtaining gold was certainly not a simple task.

Animosity and aggression was at times created between the Egyptians and their neighbouring countries because of gold mining. The lower rung of the Egyptian society and the convicts, who were watched like a hawk by the military personnel, carried out the process of mining. In the initial years, it was the area of eastern desert and Nubia, where much of the mining took place. Coming back from the pages of history, there is no doubt about the fact that Gold is still a much-valued possession in Egypt, this can be analysed by the immense amount of jewellers located there.
